Project Initiation
BotBot Inc & BotBot LTDA Incorporation
January 2024
Officially established the company in the USA and Brazil, forming the foundation of BotBot's global operations.
Software Release 0.1: R1
February 2024
Launched initial ROS2 connectivity, front-end interface, and multi-connectivity features. This milestone laid the groundwork for advanced robotic integrations.
Prototype I: R1
Early March 2024
First hardware prototype in plastic featuring an NVIDIA Jetson with full ROS2 integration. It also includes our first simple front-end application for basic control.
Integration: R1 with Unitree Go2
Mid March 2024
Mounted R1 onto the Go2 quadruped, enabling it to completely control the robot for advanced mobility. Demonstrated seamless hardware and software integration.

Prototype I: CamCam
April 2024
Early CamCam model in a plastic casing featuring a thermal camera plus color IR camera for security, healthcare, and educational uses. Showcased synergy of imaging and data collection.
Prototype II: R1
Early May 2024
Adds ZigBee and 4G connectivity, a metal casing, and modular interfaces with underlying robotic platforms. This iteration enhances overall robustness and expandability.
Prototype II: CamCam
Mid May 2024
Upgraded to a metal housing with improved internal electronics and software updates. Increases durability and performance for more advanced imaging requirements.
Software Release 0.2: R1
End of May 2024
Introducing our MyUI system, enabling fully customizable dashboards, LiDAR and camera visualization, GPS/map integration, plus navigation and remote connectivity. A major upgrade for flexible user experiences.
Prototype I: Caramelo
Early June 2024
Initial design of the first 100% Brazilian quadruped built for versatile field operations. Emphasizes local innovation and advanced mobility solutions.
Prototype I: ZoomZoom

First iteration of our 300x optical zoom camera for long-range, high-resolution inspection. Expands R1's range of vision for diverse operational needs.

Upgraded design featuring a long metal casing for more stable operation at extreme distances. Improves clarity and durability for extended use.

Commences small-scale production of R1 units for integration with other robotics platforms. Marks a key step toward broader commercial deployment.
Integration: R1 with Unitree G1
Early August 2024
Deploys R1's advanced control suite onto the Unitree G1 platform for enhanced humanoid robotics capabilities. Broadens R1's range of mobility solutions.
Prototype I: Light Payload

Plastic-cased system delivering full RGB lighting controllable via the robot, plus an IR illuminator for short/medium range night vision with CamCam. Expands functionality in low-light environments.

Small-scale manufacturing run for CamCam and ZoomZoom. Ensures consistent quality and readiness for broader deployment among early adopters.
